The Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Prof. Peter Quartey, delivers his inaugural lecture today, 13 March 2025, at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS). His lecture, titled "Debt, Investment and Growth in Ghana: Did We Borrow to Consume?” will examine whether Ghana’s increasing debt accumulation has been channelled into productive investments and economic growth or primarily used for debt servicing and consumption.

e-cookbook for Urban Ghana

This e-cookbook presents findings from cooking experiments conducted in urban Ghana as part of the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Phase II project. Despite Ghana's high electricity access rate of 89%, only 0.4% of households use electricity as their primary cooking fuel, with traditional biomass fuels remaining dominant despite declining usage (from 85.8% in 2000 to 54.3% in 2021).
